All-on-4 generally supports a fixed full-arch restoration on four implants, while All-on-6 generally uses six. Implant number should also reflect bone volume and quality, anatomy, bite, prosthetic design and long-term maintenance.

Some patients may not have suitable bone for particular implant positions or may require additional procedures. Whether an immediate temporary fixed restoration is possible is also assessed individually.
